mesopotamian fruit fly

The Mesopotamian Fruit fly is one of the rare insects that uses its mouth both for eating and as a sexual organ. After mating, the maggots stay in the mouth and feeds with its mother. Its primary food source are fruits and flower petals. They are the only known species of insects that mate for sexual pleasure, even if they have the maggots lurking in thier sexual organ. After mating, the maggots eat the eggs that the male leaves in the female's mouth until they mature and leave the nest that is thier mother.

Although this strange insect has long been extinct. We can se from pyramid hieroglyphics that pharaohs have adapted oral sex from studying this insect.
